ANNA MARIA in Azerbaijan.

ANNA MARIA are Ukrainian artists who sing in twenty languages of the world — and Azerbaijani songs are part of their repertoire.

The sisters have a tradition: whichever country they fly to for concerts, they learn several songs in the language of that country. In their repertoire in Azerbaijani are "Sari Gelin" and "Badem Serabla Dolu".

The duo has performed in Azerbaijan more than once: in Baku, including the awards ceremony of the Azerbaijan Tourism Association at the Four Seasons Hotel and a New Year party in 2013, and at Novruz Bayram celebrations in Gabala in 2014. After a concert in Baku in 2016, together with well-known Turkish and Azerbaijani artists, the sisters were invited on air to one of the country's best TV channels, Xezer TV. They surprised the hosts with a song in Azerbaijani, and by the end of the programme the hosts of "Oyan Azerbaijan" were singing along to Anna and Maria's songs in Ukrainian.

The duo is also a regular guest at Azerbaijani community events in Ukraine: Novruz Bayram in Kharkiv (organised by the Honorary Consulate of Azerbaijan, with a soloist of Azerbaijani state television), World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day, the concert at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Kyiv for the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Irpin.

Anna and Maria also perform at corporate events and weddings. The duo tours Europe actively, so a performance can be booked in Azerbaijan as well as for private and corporate events in the EU, including Berlin.
