ANNA MARIA Perform at a Grand Charity Evening in Italy

On July 31, 2022, Italy hosted a grand charity concert in support of Ukraine — “Uniti per la Pace. Grazie Italia”. The singers Anna and Maria took part in the concert, performing songs in Ukrainian and Italian. The purpose of the event was to thank Italy, which has taken in many families from Ukraine (including from Mariupol, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk…), and to raise funds for the treatment of children who have become victims of the war. All the funds raised during the concert went to the All-Ukrainian charitable organization Mama i Nemovlia (“Mother and Infant”) and will be directed toward the treatment of 400 seriously ill children from Ukraine who have suffered during the war. The concert also featured other well-known Ukrainian artists: Natalia Buchynska, Mila Nitich, Mykhailo Hrytskan, Volodymyr Hryshko, and several Italian singers. ANNA MARIA: “It is a blessing that even in such a difficult time we are able to sing and, in doing so, help our people and our country and bring Ukraine’s victory closer. These concerts… they are completely different; the feeling on stage is completely different. We are overwhelmed with pride for every Ukrainian, because we are strong, brave, and unbreakable. And no matter what, our Ukrainian song will be heard all over the world! We sang our ‘Tvoie Misto’ (‘Your City’), ‘Same Ti’ (‘The Very Ones’), and ‘Vse Bude Dobre’ (‘Everything Will Be Fine’), and we also sang in Italian and thanked Italy for helping Ukrainian families.” The audience, made up of Ukrainians and Italians, gave the performance by the sisters Anna and Maria a very warm reception, sang along to the duo’s well-known songs “Same Ti” and “Vse Bude Dobre”, and truly felt like one big friendly family. In fact, this is far from the first time ANNA MARIA have performed in support of Ukraine in Italy. Back in April, the sisters performed at a big event dedicated to the Easter holiday, which brought together many families from Ukraine to whom Italy has given temporary refuge. In June and July, the sisters held several concerts and meetings with families from the hardest-hit cities of Ukraine. Anna and Maria say that it is very important for them to sing for, connect with, and support Ukrainians — to lift their fighting spirit and faith in the future through music and, despite all the pain and despair, to see the light in the eyes of our people and our children.
