ANNA MARIA Give 13 Concerts on the Front Line in the Zaporizhzhia Direction

The duo ANNA MARIA sang on the front line for soldiers in the Zaporizhzhia direction. The sisters traveled right to the front line together with the Cultural Forces (Kulturnyi Desant) to support Ukraine’s valiant warriors and sing for them right there. The Ukrainian singers spent a whole week there and gave 13 concerts. The duo ANNA MARIA sang on the front line for the military ANNA MARIA performing on the front line “This is our first experience performing directly on the front line. It means a great deal to us, because my beloved, Ihor, is also in the Armed Forces – he is on the front line right now too, defending our country,” says Anna. Over the year and a half of the full-scale war, ANNA MARIA have given a great many concerts for the military – in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Odesa. They have also performed in hospitals for the wounded. “Many people think songs aren’t needed here, and neither is music. But that’s not true, and we saw it for ourselves here. For the guys who have just come out of the trenches, constantly under fire, it’s a chance to switch off for a few minutes and think of home,” the sisters share. “Music heals wounds too – it heals the soul. It is a powerful force.” The sisters describe how these performances for the military took place: “We sang just like that, with a guitar. We sang at the positions, in dugouts, at stabilization points, hospitals, and training centers. All of it roughly 4 km from the front line. Sometimes it got very loud during a performance. But the music never stopped. We sang together, laughed, hugged, and sometimes cried… It is an honor for us to sing for and talk with the people who are fighting for our future right now.” As a keepsake, the soldiers personally signed a flag of Ukraine for the sisters. On their social media, ANNA MARIA shared moving photos and videos from the concerts in the field.
