ANNA MARIA Dance with Chapkis at His 90th Birthday Celebration

On February 24, the famous choreographer Hryhoriy Chapkis turned 90. To mark the occasion, a grand concert was held in his honor, where the Maestro gathered family and friends, well-known Ukrainian artists and celebrities. Ukrainian singers, the sisters ANNA MARIA, prepared a special number for the concert. The girls performed their hit “My Road”, ending it with a passionate tango staged by Vitaliy Zahoruiko, choreographer of the show “Dancing with the Stars”. What’s more, one of the sisters appeared dressed as a man, in a suit and a hat. “We wish that applause this loud keeps ringing in your life for many years to come!” the sisters said from the stage. And to a full ovation from the hall, they danced a fiery cha-cha-cha together with the Maestro. Two years ago Hryhoriy Mykolayovych invited us to his jubilee, and we are incredibly happy to be at this celebration today. He is a tremendous example for us — an example of love for life and devotion to one’s craft. We wish everyone could dance like that at 90! And with eyes shining like his!” Taking the stage that evening at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, where Hryhoriy Chapkis is a professor in the choreography department, to congratulate him were Yuriy Horbunov, Vlad Yama, Kamaliya, Viktoria Bulitko, Dmytro Dikusar and others.
