Ukrainian duo ANNA MARIA are bringing listeners a new musical message with their latest single and music video, “Добре там, де ми є” The song is about people who stubbornly make room for happiness and hope in their lives, even when everything around them feels chaotic. This bright, atmospheric single is infused with an uplifting spirit, a love of life, and an unwavering belief in the future. ANNA MARIA : “We used to hear the phrase, ‘The grass is always greener on the other side’ quite often. We never liked it. We thought, why should that be the case? Shouldn’t it be the opposite? It should be good where WE ARE. Each of us has the power to choose how we see this imperfect world. That doesn’t mean closing our eyes to reality or pretending that we aren’t afraid or that nothing hurts. No. It means stubbornly making room in our lives for joy, beauty, tenderness, and the future. Because perhaps that’s exactly how we keep going. And that’s how we continue to live.” The sisters have also released an official music video for the single, directed in collaboration with renowned Ukrainian filmmaker Viktor Skuratovskyi. Viktor is well known to Ukrainian audiences for his work with artists and bands such as Антитіла, Друга Ріка, Арсен Мірзоян, Тоня Матвієнко, Христина Соловій, and many others. This is not his first collaboration with ANNA MARIA. MARIA: “‘Добре там, де ми є’ came together quite spontaneously. We were preparing a completely different single, working in the studio, and planning a video shoot… But then, suddenly, an idea came to us! We were inspired by the people around us — people who carry beauty in their hearts. It’s such a difficult time, with so much cruelty and negativity around us. And yet we see people who remain bright, kind, and hopeful about the future. Everything happened very quickly. The chorus came first. It all started with the phrase, ‘Добре там, де ми є.’ We remember hearing the saying ‘The grass is always greener on the other side’ quite often when we were children. We never liked it. Why should it be that way? Shouldn’t it be the opposite? It should be good where WE ARE. We wanted the music to feel as if you were standing somewhere on a mountaintop, wanting to stretch your arms wide, close your eyes, and sing. We wanted to capture that feeling of being uplifted and free.” ANNA: “We shared a snippet of the song on our social media, and the response was much bigger than we expected. We received so many comments asking, ‘When is this song coming out?’ Then, this summer, we were performing abroad, by the sea, and people started asking us, ‘You’re going to perform your new song at the concert, right?’ And we thought: How can we sing it? It wasn’t even finished yet — we only had one verse! But that gave us the push we needed to finish the song. Inspiration came quickly by the sea. Just a couple of days later, we performed it live for the very first time. And we were amazed when, by the end of the song, the entire audience was singing those words along with us: ‘Добре там, де ми є’” It is worth noting that ANNA MARIA’s previous single, “Бути щасливими,” took TikTok by storm, inspiring more than 450,000 videos, accumulating millions of streams, and becoming a true soundtrack to the lives of thousands of Ukrainians.
