International Premiere of ANNA MARIA's Song for Ukraine: “I PRAY”

“We want the whole world to pray with us for Ukraine today. We want the world not to forget about Ukraine.” ANNA MARIA have presented a song and video titled “I PRAY”, dedicated to the children of Ukraine who are suffering because of the war. The video features Ukrainian families who were forced to leave the country because of the war. It also features Maria's six-month-old daughter and her son, Lev. A German-Ukrainian team worked on the video. The Ukrainian singers tell the story behind the song and the video in more detail: MARIA: “This song was written in Ukrainian at the very beginning of the war. It was a true cry of the soul. When everything inside is boiling with pain, with the horror of this war — it pours out into verses and music. We recorded it at home. And simply posted it on social media… Within a few days the video had been watched by several million people on Facebook, and we received countless messages from all corners of Ukraine and the world. By chance, the song was heard in Berlin. Our song made an impression. We were contacted and offered the chance to make an English-language version of the song so that it could be heard in Europe. And also to shoot a music video for the song and take part in events in support of Ukraine.” ANNA: “It is terrifying to imagine what the children of Ukraine have had to live through during these days of war… It is impossible to recall it without tears. The fear in children's eyes, the confusion about what is happening, the tears in those little eyes. And that terrible word — “war”. It hurts so much that children have learned what it means. Truly, in just a few days they seemed to become adults. Sadly, many children have already lost their parents. It makes you want to cry out to the whole world: “I want all children to live in you, my Ukraine, and without war! We pray that the Lord will protect Ukraine and protect the children.” No child should ever know war… Children should smile. Children should LIVE. “We truly hope that this special work will reach many hearts and give hope and strength in this difficult time…” say the sisters. Today there are so many children who have been forcibly separated from their parents, children left without parents and loved ones, children who had to leave their homes because of evacuation, children who have suffered injuries, and children who are still in areas of active fighting. The only things holding us up right now are love and prayer. Three million children inside the country and more than 2.2 million children in the countries hosting people from Ukraine are currently in need of humanitarian aid. All proceeds from views of this video will go towards the humanitarian needs of Ukraine's children.
