Ivan Dorn Rides the Kyiv Metro, While ANNA MARIA Sing on Andriivskyi Descent (VIDEO)

On March 8, while men were buying up tulips and Kyiv cakes by the ton and rushing around like mad to congratulate the women in their lives, Ukrainian singers Anna and Maria (the band ANNA MARIA) pulled off a crazy feat of their own — they staged a small impromptu concert on Andriivskyi Descent. The girls, together with two musicians from their band, simply stood in the middle of the street and began to sing. It instantly caught the attention of passers-by. By the time the first song was over, quite a crowd had gathered — people who didn't want to leave and kept asking for more. Anna and Maria explained the street performance as their wish to give the city — its ordinary people — a lift in spirits. They felt like doing it, so they did! “It's perfectly normal practice — Bono, the frontman of U2, goes out into the street at Christmas to sing carols, and Jessie J once decided to sing in the London Underground. This was our way of wishing everyone a happy spring!”
